Emilija Žukauskaitė x Bali Wood

Some collections begin with an idea.
This one began with a relationship.

Earlier this year, I travelled to Bali to work alongside local ceramicists, exploring form, proportion, surface, function and colour. Together, we began developing the first pieces — looking for a dialogue between the organic language of ceramics and the instinctive gesture of painting.

When the vases arrived in Vilnius several months later, the process continued in my studio.

Each of the ten terracotta vessels became a work in its own right. Colour, line and form meet here not simply to complement one another, but to transform the object into something new — existing somewhere between sculpture, painting and an interior object.

The collection is a reflection on what can emerge when different cultures, materials and artistic practices come together. A meeting of Bali and Vilnius, of craft and painting, of function and expression.

Ten vases.
Ten original works.
One story, born in Bali.
